New Care Home Kirkcaldy Care Home Opened
Residents and staff at Ostlers Way Care Home recently celebrated the official opening of their new facility after the project was completed in the Autumn of last year.
The £5.5 million project was delivered by hub East Central Scotland and will be at the heart of a small care village that also provides extra care houses and other services for older people in Kirkcaldy.
The building is a two-storey structure accommodating for 60 people, made up of five individual living units of 12 bedrooms with ensuites.
The care home and day care facilities have been specially designed with surfaces that reduce glare and visual confusion and the décor takes into account residents with visual impairments and dementia.
Large open spaces make use of natural light and easily accessible secure garden areas have been designed specifically for dementia patients and provide vital outdoor space for residents.
